Who We Are

    We are a group of believers who are excited about God's good news and what He is doing here at RightConnection. We want to share His love and teaching for joyous living. Our pastors and church staff bring together special talents to develop your spiritual life and help you with life's daily challenges. Not just in clearly teaching the Bible, but how Biblical truths are relevant to you. Our goal is not to make the Bible relevant, but to help his hearers see how relevant the Bible is! The Bible is the Word of God and is timelessly relevant! The Bible transcends all societies, cultures, fads, etc.

The RightConnection Church staff focuses years of experience and training on developing confidence and skills in all age groups.

Russ and Kathy Thompson

    As Lead Pastor, Russ' relevant messages offer a fresh approach to the timeless truths of the Bible. His goal is to help each of us to achieve our fullest potential and discover God's purpose for our life. Russ, along with his wife Kathy founded KR Ministries, RightConnection Church and the PowerPlant Church with the goal of teaching the true Word of God and serving the Lexington and surrounding community for Jesus Christ.
    Pastor Kathy has always had a passion and energy for Christ that is contagious. Her passion for teaching the prophetic word of God and teaching how to live a fuller, more productive life is evidenced by the many ministries in which she actively participates. She shares preaching duties with Pastor Russ and teaches Biblical principals and reports unfolding prophetic events. She also works with children Sundays and Wednesdays.
   
    Because we know that God blesses us with various talents, and because Kathy and Russ have a passion for youth, RightConnection Center was established to give quality instruction in music and art with a Christian viewpoint. We also offer uniquely designed Homeschool Support Classes.  Several of our professional instructors were homeschooled and understand the learning styles and schedule needs of homeschool families.  Class sizes are limit, so please call to speak with one of our instructors to secure a space. 803-753-8926
    The Bible, the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, and complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three Manifestations: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  •  Jesus Christ--Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.
  • The Holy Spirit--The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and during this age, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
  • Man--Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
  • Salvation--The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God.
  • The Return of Jesus Christ--The personal, premillenial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is our hope and has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
  • Future Events--There will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
  • The Church--The true Church is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head.
  • Baptism and Communion--Water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life. The Lord's Supper is a memorial service setting forth, in sacred and symbolic manner, the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; all true believers and only believers should share in it.

   We believe that every believer must have a personal and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, for apart from Him we can do nothing. Each person has a ministry from God that no one else can fill. We are to instruct, teach, exhort, and admonish believers in the ways of God (John 15:1-5; Hebrews 13:5-6).

   We believe that the Bible is the true infallible Word of God, which cleanses our souls. It holds the words of eternal life and the keys of the Kingdom of God. The Bible shows us God's principles and standards for living; and it is the food that sustains us in all circumstances (John 1:14; 2 Timothy 3: 16-17; 1 John 2:5-6).

   We believe in worshipping the Lord in spirit, song, dance and with the raising of our hands. We believe that we are to praise and worship Him with our whole being (Psalms 150:1-6; John 4:24).

We believe that Godly living and the pursuit of a holy life should be the goal of every believer. (Heb 12:14, Phil 3:14)

  We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the sign of a spirit filled individual is a victorious life with the manifestation of the Fruit of the Spirit in their daily life (Galatians 5:22-23; Acts 2:4; Ephesians 5:18-21).

   We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We believe the Holy Spirit empowers a person for victorious living and faithful service if that person completely surrenders control of their life to the control of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16-26).  We also believe in the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit, that He bestows gifts on every believer and that every gift listed in I Corinthians 12:7-10, Romans 12:6-8, and Ephesians 4:11-16 is available and in operation until we see Jesus face to face. (I Corinthians 1:4-7; I Corinthians 13:8-13).

   We believe that it is God's will to heal and deliver His people today as He did in the days of the first Apostles. It is by the stripes of Jesus that we are healed, delivered and made whole. We have authority over sickness, disease, demons, curses, and every circumstance in life (Luke 10:19; 2 Corinthians 10:4-5; 1 Peter 2:24). 

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature... And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." (Mark 16:15-18)

Under Pastors Russ and Kathy's leadership, RightConnection Church was founded and held its first worship service July 26, 2009 in the Lexington Middle School's "Little Theater." Since that day the church has steadily grown. RightConnection Center was opened July 29, 2009 for Wednesday evening service and other group meetings. Officially on August 3, 2009 we began instructional classes in Martial Arts, Music and Art.
    Along with Pastor Gerald Millwood, Pastors Russ and Kathy founded in 2010, Surge Student Ministries for middle school aged students and The PowerPlant Church for young adults, 16 years of age and older.
    Kathy and Russ and the entire RightConnection family, are focused on meeting the needs of the Lexington community and the Midlands by providing ministries and services that impact every area of life. While their commitment to make the RightConnection with the local community is strong, they also are committed to making the RightConnection with the needs of people and making Jesus known state wide and world wide. There is a new generation rising at RightConnection Church - a generation that understands that nothing is impossible for God Who enables us to fulfill our God given destiny and find purpose and meaning in life.
